Physics
is all around us every day of our lives. In this course we will take a
careful look at familiar experiences and objects around us, and see how they
are viewed through the eyes of a physicist. There are no prerequisites
for this course; only basic algebraic and geometric mathematical skills are
needed.
Checking Marks: To check your marks in the course please log on
to portal.utoronto.ca . You should see “Physics of Everyday
Life” in your “My Courses” list. Click on that link. On the side-bar on the left there is link
called “Course Tools” – click on it. You should see a menu that includes a link to
“My Grades” – click on it.
I will try to update the marks
within 2 weeks of due-dates; if you see an apparent problem with your marks, or
cannot find them, please let me know (
All students registered in this course are
required to have an iclicker
personal response system, which are available for $35 at the counter of the
Campus Bookstore. Each clicker has a unique ID which will be linked with your
student ID. During class time these will be used for informal discussion
questions as well as quizzes which count toward your participation mark. iclicker been adopted as the official
