Article on Spin-Orbit Coupling in Ultracold Atoms makes it to the cover of Physical Review Letters
UT Physics Research Paper makes the cover of Physical Review Letters (August 31, 2012)
Spin-orbit coupling is at the heart of new states of matter such as topological insulators and technologies such as spintronics which proposes to use the electronic spin instead of its charge to carry out information processing. Professor Arun Paramekanti and his collaborators report on how spin orbit coupling also leads to new states of ultracold atomic matter - their paper made the cover of the August 31, 2012 issue of the Physical Review Letters.
