2012 H.L. Welsh Lectures in Physics

The Welsh Lectures in Physics have been held annually since 1975 in honour of H.L. Welsh, a distinguished former faculty member in the Physics Department. They are the major public event in the life of the Department of Physics. They are widely advertised in the University and invitations are sent to faculty in neighbouring Universities as well as to local Research Institutes and Government Laboratories.

The Welsh Lecturers for 2012 are:

Professor Kerry Emanuel, MIT

Professor Roger Bilham, University of Colorado


The lectures will be on Wednesday, 2 May 2012, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM in the McLeod Auditorium of the Medical Sciences Centre. TheseĀ  public lectures are addressed to a large audience of fairly broad interests in the physical sciences.
