Physics students win awards at the AGU Joint Assembly
Named Best Student Presentations
The American Geophysical Union held its Spring Joint Assembly in Toronto from May 24- 27, 2009.
In the Atmospheric Sciences Section, two U of T students were recognized with awards for Best Student Presentations. Heather Andres won for her presentation on Surface Climate Effects due to Changing Estimates of Century-Scale Solar Variability. Rodica Lindenmaier won for her presentation on Springtime Arctic Trace Gas Measurements and Comparisons with the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment on SCISAT.
In the Study of the Earth's Deep Interior Section, Ryan Vilim received an award for Outstanding Student Paper for his presentation of Dynamo models incorporating iron "snow zones" consistent with Mercury's weak observed magnetic field.
