Printing to PCS Printers from MacOSX

A HOWTO document for setting up your MacOS X client to be able to print to the PCS supported printers.

Instructions for MacOS Leopard

ps1 and ps2 model: Kyocera FS-4000DN

ps3/pscolor1 model: Kyocera FS-C5025N

Step 1: download/install the Kyocera ppd file

Download the PPD files to your computer:

Step 2: setup printer

From the dock choose "System Preferences" > "Print & Fax":

The following window will show up:

Press on the "+" sign.

In the following window chose the following:

Protocol: "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP"
Address: "print-server.physics.utoronto.ca"
Queue: /printers/ps1 (or /printers/ps2 or /printers/ps3)
Name: ps1 or ps2 or ps3
Location: (optional)

from the "Print Using": drop-down menu choose "other..." and go to the place on your computer where you downloaded the ppd file (FS-4000DN for ps1, ps2 or FS-C5025N for ps3)

In the following window choose the following:

Optional Feeder: Multi Purpose Feeder

Paper Feeders: Two

Choose "Continue"

Done! Your printer is installed.
