Abstract
The talk will be devoted to experimental studies of alkali, alkaline-earth
and rare-earth overlayers on tungsten, molybdenum and
some other metals. The focus will be on the correlation between phase
transitions in the overlayers, surface diffusion kinetics and
photoemission from covered surfaces. These results suggest new possibilities
in tailoring surface transport and electronic properties
at surfaces.
