Abstract
The de Haas-van Alphen effect has conventionally been used as a probe of the normal state electronic structure of metals. However, it has now been observed in the mixed state of many type-II superconductors. I will describe our experimental studies of quantum oscillations in the conventional superconductors NbSe2, Nb3Sn and V3Si. I will also discuss how information, such as the aniostropy of the superconducting gap, might be obtained from de Haas-van Alphen studies.
