Abstract
I will discuss ring-exchange models for bosons (equivalently
easy-plane magnets) in two dimensions on square and
triangular lattices. Due to the different conservation laws
in these systems, they exhibit different properties. In
particular, we find a stable critical phase on the square
lattice at zero temperature which is formally reminiscent of
1-D Luttinger liquids. The model on the triangular lattice
is unstable to long-range order at T=0 but has interesting
finite temperature phase transitions.
