Abstract

Recent experimental studies of the field-induced antiferromagnetic ordering in the double chain spin-gap magnetic compound TlCuCl3 are not easily explained by traditional dimer models. We have recently shown that a theory based on a Bose condensation of the magnons in this compound gives reasonable agreement with the temperature dependence of the magnetization. We use a Hartree-Fock approximation, analogous to that recently developed for atomic Bose gases REF: T. Nikuni et al, PRL84, 5868 (2000).
