Abstract

It was shown that doping the 123 systems with halogens can increase Tc up to 92K if the starting system was underdoped  and even restore the superconducting state if the starting system was in the magnetically ordered state. We have used NMR, NQR and ESR techniques ton examine in details the F-YBCO system and have shown that the fluorine atoms incorporate into system. The case of chlorine is not a clear cut case while bromine and iodine do not incorporate into the system but decompose it. The use of fluorine as an NMR probe of the superconducting state is discussed.
