Experiments frequently come with surprises. In this talk, I will describe the accidental observation of Bose fireworks, abrupt emission of matterwave jets from a driven Bose-Einstein condensate. The jet structure originates from collective scattering of atoms, seeded by quantum fluctuations, and amplified by bosonic stimulation. In the strong coupling regime, the collective scattering leads to complex patterns and jet correlations, connecting to jet formation in those discussed in high-energy collisions of heavy ions.
