The Arctic is a region that is disproportionately affected by anthropogenic climate change, warming at 3-4 times the global average rate. Measurements in the region are spatially sparse, contributing to the challenge of modelling the Arctic atmosphere. This thesis presents improvements to our ability to study the carbon cycle and climatology in the Arctic, and the expansion of the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON), which contributes to our understanding of atmospheric trace gas concentrations of carbon-containing gases.
