Pre-doctoral Summer Research Program

Incoming MSc and PhD students will be eligible to apply for a Pre-doctoral Summer Research Fellowship (PSRF).

The Pre-doctoral Summer Research Program (PSRF) is available to both PhD and MSc students who have accepted an offer of admission into the Physics graduate program. Without classes or TA obligations competing for your attention, the PSRF offers the opportunity to get a head start on research during the Summer months. This program is optional, and there is no obligation on either a student’s or faculty member’s side to continue the supervisory relationship once the student officially registers in the graduate program. This is a chance to explore a new field and/or a new group!

The PSRF Fellowships can be held for a period of 2 to 4 months, and come with a monthly stipend of $2,500. Students interested in applying should either contact directly research faculty member(s) in physics to discuss their potential research project, or send to the graduate office a prioritized list of three to four groups in which they would like to work. Unfortunately, since this placement counts as employment, we cannot offer the PSRF to international students.

Please contact the graduate office if you have further question.
