In all living cells, complex networks of signaling proteins process large amounts of information to generate specific responses. When cellular environments change, signaling networks adapt accordingly. Our laboratory integrates synthetic biology and directed evolution approaches to investigate the molecular mechanisms that guide the evolution and determine the function of signaling networks.
