Congratulations to Kyle Thompson (Prof. Steinberg’s student) for winning this year’s Xanadu Award for an Outstanding Publication by a Ph.D. student.

The award was established by Xanadu, to be awarded yearly to a Ph.D. student in the Department of Physics in recognition of the publication of the peer-reviewed article: "How much time does a photon spend as an atomic excitation before being transmitted through a cloud of atoms?" in the APL Quantum journal.
