Explaining science through the art of storytelling
resonates deeply and allows the recipient to appreciate
knowledge on a deeper intellectual and personal level.
Traditional scientific investigative methodology does not
allow for fostering creativity and spontaneity yet,
using intuition and exploring creative concepts are at the
heart of innovation and discovery. To learn something new,
we often need to learn differently. The tools and techniques
of theatrical improvisation allow us to explore that
creativity, accept and appreciate failure, and trust an
intuitive instinct that guides us through wonder and
learning.
This talk explores scientific knowledge, the neurology of
creativity, lessons learned through two improv workshops
within the department of physics and the power of
connectedness.
