On the Low-Energy Behavior of Dynamical Gauge Couplings

Abstract: "In the early universe, gauge couplings may differ from those predicted by the Standard Model, potentially leading to observable non-standard phases. In this talk, I will discuss the construction of models that dynamically change the gauge coupling at low energies. We point out the limitations of the truncated effective field theory picture, the connection with the renormalization group, and showcase more exotic UV complete scenarios from compactified extra dimensions."
