For Mirco Siercke in Aephraim Steinberg's lab. The Top Trap Asymmetry circuit is an AF
variable gain amplifier. With a steady input signal, an analog
control input adjusts the gain from zero to 2.5. Specs are:
- Input (typical), Vi: 5.4KHz at 0-2Vrms, AC coupled.
- Output range, Vo: 5Vrms max.
- Control input range, Vc: 0 to +5VDC working, -5 to +10V absolute maximum.
- Gain transfer curve: Vo = 0.5 * Vi * Vc
- Gain range (reference only): 0 to 2.5
The circuit is a stripped down version of the
RF Phase Shifter and uses the latter's Rev:B PCB.
