About Emily

I am a queer bisexual woman, and settler Canadian by birth. I grew up in Waterloo, and both of my parents are alumni of the University of Waterloo. It is my privilege to work on the unceded territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River.

My interests include creative writing, visual art, and of course, the beautiful world of physics and mathematics. In my spare time I love to draw and write. My favourite mediums are pencil, pen and marker. Always excited to geek out about Copic markers. I tend to write short stories when I have the time.

I have always been an avid cook, and I am happy to be able to cook with my wife. Recently I picked up gardening as a way of keeping occupied while stuck at home. There is little more satisfying than eating food you grew! I'm interested in how to improve food resilence in Canada, especially in consultation with indigenous communities.
