  • Important Dates: First class on 09/12, Thanksgiving 10/10, Reading week 11/7-11, classes end on 12/09 (makeup class); Lecture dates: 09/12,09/19, 09/26,10/3,10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28, 12/5, 12/8 (24 lectures)

  • Course lecture at Mon 3-5 pm in-person.

  • We now fully embrace Python as the programming language for computer exercises/practicals in this course. So freshen up your memory on it now! Here are the Obspy Practicals on Overleaf.
  • Grading scheme for UG: 5 problem sets (each worth ~15-18%), and final oral exam (15%).
  • Grading scheme for G: 5 problem sets (each worth ~15-18%), and 5 practicals (each worth 3%)
  • Homework lateness penalty: 10% per day.
  • Sign up for undergrad oral exam in mid November.
