Getting to Banff

Banff is located 120 kilometres (80 miles), or a scenic 1.5 hour drive, west of the city of Calgary, along the Trans Canada Highway #1.

A park pass is required by all people using Banff National Park. Park passes may be purchased from the Park gate upon arrival to Banff, or the information centre downtown. Rates are as follows: $10.00 per day (from 2 - 7 people in vehicle); $5.00 per day (1 person in vehicle); Annual Park Pass $70.00. (More information is available but note that it gives incorrect information about the park fee.)
