High temperature superconductivity: progress and prospects

Sebastian More than twenty years after the discovery of high temperature copper-oxide superconductors, other examples of high temperature superconducting materials remain scarce. Our ability to create superconducting materials by design rather than serendipity has been limited both by our understanding of current high temperature superconductors, and our control of complex materials candidates. I will discuss recent progress made in both these areas, and prospects ahead.
