Science Rendezvous on May 10
One of the department’s busiest outreach events, this year the event drew big crowds around King’s College Circle and in the Myhal building and were engaged through our interactive demos.
Doors Open Toronto at Physics on May 24
The department opened its own doors on Saturday, May 24 for the annual outreach event that showcases the department Myhal space along with Physics demos and talks. This year we saw record number of attendees and thank all of the amazing student volunteers!
Science Unlimited Summer Camp: August 18-22
This year’s camp had 50 enthusiastic grade 10 and 11 students from the GTA. One participant said:
“It was truly one of the greatest camps I have ever attended. The hands-on workshops and super cool labs we did from all the different sciences departments at UofT made it so unique and super fun. It was so cool and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity” Ahmed
Enrichment Academy Sessions (Recruitment Office) on July 30/31 and August 5

Joscelyn van der Veen, Keira Pond Augusto, and Prof. Jason Harlow facilitated a Physics workshop to a full house at Fan Expo entitled: "Levitation! Holographic projections! Teleportation! These don’t just exist in science fiction.

Physics Mentorship Program Launch Event on October 3
The 2025-2026 Physics Mentorship Program launched on October 10 with an in-person launch event. The program has almost fifty mentor-mentee matches. Mentors consist of alumni, faculty and graduate students and student mentees who are 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students.
Career Accelerator Program Fall Career Event Date on October 21
The 2025-2026 PhysCAP Careers Outside Academia event was held on Thursday, October 17. Upper-year students attended a panel discussion by physics alumni who have pursued careers outside academia. Students learned about career opportunities relevant to their degrees in physics and about the skills that employers value. The event featured a diverse group of speakers who shared their personal stories and described the paths they had taken over the years and how their trajectories had shifted from their original plans.
