Gurjit Sandher
Gurjit joins us as a Mechanical Systems Specialist in the Physics machine shop. He brings several decades of experience in precision machining and fabrication. A qualified Tool and Die Maker, Gurjit adds to our in-house expertise in both manual and CNC machining, as well as a variety of welding techniques. His career spans the automotive sector (Honda and Fiat/Chrysler) and academia (York University and Centennial College), where he has supported graduate students and faculty in the design and fabrication of complex scientific and R&D components. Colin McCurdy
Colin joins Physics Learning Services as our newest specialist. A graduate of U of T’s Physics and Astronomy programs, Colin has first-hand experience with many of the labs and demonstrations he will now be supporting. He will provide assistance in classroom demonstrations as well as departmental AV needs. Outside of work, Colin is a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor, and a high-level fencer who helped the Varsity Blues men’s fencing team capture its seventh straight OUA title.
