Correlation effects in the iron pnictide materials

We will discuss the strength of the electronic  correlations in the recently discovered iron pnictides in the light of experiments as well as different approaches to the theory of correlated materials. We will present results for the photoemission spectra and optical conductivity of some members of this family of correlated materials and discuss the factors that govern the strenght of the correlations and draw fundamental distinctions between  oxides and pnictides.
