Quantum Turbulent cloud of atomic superfluid : general characteristics and equivalence to the propagation of a speckle light field

Bose-Einstein condensate of cold trapped atomic samples constitute a special system to investigate quantum turbulence. Turbulence in superfluid is characterized by a tangle configuration of vortices suffering reconnections that takes to a cascade of energy flow from large to small scale. The  demonstration of emergence of a turbulent regime in a sample of trapped superfluid Rb atoms and its characteristicswill be presented as well as  analogies associated with the observed self similar expansion. The observation of momentum distribution and future experiments will be discusssed.
