Supersymmetric field theories have enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, resulting in exact results for some observables. These have led to new insights into gauge dynamics, ualities and found applications to mathematics. In this talk I will discuss some of these and emphasize work that leads to a physics-based solution to the problem of computing Gromov-Witten topological invariants.
