Panelists
Ketheisan Vigneshuaran
Career Educator, Career Exploration and Education, U of T
Ravi Bhat
Portfolio Manager, Polar Asset Management Partners

Polar focuses on niche-oriented strategies which have attracted investors from around the world.
Ravi graduated from U of T in 2005 with a Ph.D. in Physics working in the condensed matter/quantum optics theory group and subsequently did a post-doc at Columbia University in the Applied Physics/Applied Mathematics department. He previously did a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry from Queen’s University.
Bianca Ciungu
Quantitative Modeling at BMO Capital Markets

Bianca works as a quant developing structured products pricing models. She works among other physicists and mathematicians and gets to directly apply the skillset she developed at U of T. During her studies, she was Physics Student Union (Vice President, First Year Learning Communities Peer Mentor and a Mentor at Trinity College.
Bianca graduated from U of T with a Bachelor of Physics degree in 2017, a Master’s in 2018 and a Ph.D. in 2021.
Emily Knuckey
Data Engineer at Royal Bank of Canada

Emily works to automate ETL pipelines, using Python and Logstash to pull data into SQL and Elastic, saving teams dozens of hours in monthly manual reporting. While completing her undergraduate degree, she conducted research in atmospheric physics, joining the GTA Urban Emissions Project and the CALASET project. Emily also ran physics outreach workshops for high school students and co-chaired the Canadian Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics. From these opportunities, she developed both the hard and soft skills necessary to succeed in her current role.
Emily graduated from U of T with a Physics degree in 2020.
Julia Louis
Patient Coordinator, Hospital for Sick Children

Julia worked as a clinical laboratory technician for two years, before deciding to switch careers, in search of a more personally involved role within healthcare. Julia now works at the Hospital for Sick Children as a Patient Coordinator, a job which may seem distant from her degree, but one which she finds to be most fulfilling. She believes that her physics degree has shaped the way she works and her perspective on life. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and playing the piano.
Julia graduated from U of T in 2020 with a specialist degree in Biological Physics and a minor in French. In her final year, she completed a thesis project at the CReATe Fertility Clinic, investigating methods for sperm selection using a microfluidics-based devices.
Registration required.
