Cryogenic calorimeters have extensive applications in the search of physics beyond the standard model thanks to their exceptional energy resolution, low energy threshold and high radiopurity. The physics applications include rare event searches (as dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay) and precision measurements (as the measurement of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering, neutrino mass measurement, etc). In this seminar, I will discuss design and modeling choices that go into the fabrication of cryogenic calorimeters and how they are connected to the physics investigated. This seminar will focus on cryogenic calorimeters for dark matter searches and neutrino physics.
