NMR Studies of Strongly Correlated Electron Systems


Abstract

Nuclear magnetic resonance has made significant contributions to the study of strongly correlated electrons in condensed matter.  These materials often exhibit unusual broken symmetries at low temperatures, including unconventional superconductivity, antiferromagnetism, and coexistence of multiple phases.  I will discuss the results and implications  of several recent discoveries made by NMR in heavy electron materials, with an emphasis on the Cerium and Plutonium based superconductors.
