Precision Measurements with Ultracold Atoms and Molecules

Abstract

We will discuss recent and ongoing precision measurements with alkaline earth atoms in optical lattices.  In particular, recent sub-Hz characterization of the optical lattice clock will be presented, as well as progress toward precise measurements with ultracold molecules.  We will describe the currently explored applications of AMO physics to fundamental physics questions such as dark matter and stability of the constants of nature.
