Dear Colleagues,

As Chair of the TRIUMF Board of Management I would like to advise you that Dr. Alan Shotter's term of Director of TRIUMF will be ending March 31, 2007. The Board is very pleased with the accomplishments of TRIUMF under the leadership of Alan and look forward to working with him until the end of his term.

At this time, I should also advise you that Dr. Pekka Sinervo, member of the TRIUMF Board of Management, and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto, has been appointed by the Executive Committee of the Board to Chair the Search Committee for Alan Shotter’s replacement.

The role of Director is crucial to the well being and future development of the user community TRIUMF serves. Further information on this position can be found at http://www.triumf.info/public/

As the Search Committee is proactively seeking candidates for this position, I would ask you to forward any recommendations with respect to potential candidates and/or the search process to the chair of the Search Committee at dean@artsci.utoronto.ca as soon as possible.  The Search Committee is scheduled to meet on May 26, 2006. It would be most useful to receive recommendations and comments by that date.
